Edinburgh International (Theater) Festival, 2005
Ms. May is busy, indeed. She is also in a stage piece this year at Edinburgh. Blackbird is from the Scottish playwright David Harrower, and it is the play's world premiere. Jodhi May works again with director Peter Stein (they worked previously at Edinburgh in 2003 for the staging of The Seagull) and fellow actor Roger Allam. Please refer here for more information: http://www.eif.co.uk/festival2005/theatre.htm#blackbird and http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/edinburgh2005/story/0,,1527971,00.html |

Good news for Mac users!
The Xvid video clips (on the "CLIPS" page) can now be viewed using the VLC 0.72 or 0.8.0 player, available at http://www.videolan.org. Like the Xvid codec, this is an open source solution, especially for Mac users. Unfortunately, users with Mac operating systems pre-dating the current OXS will not be able to use this player. |

Casting Call, June 2004 State of the Nation series
The call went out June 17, 2004 for 250 extras to appear in a new Jodhi May mini-series also starring Bill Nighy (most recently seen in Love Actually) Damian Lewis (Ms. May's co-star in the 1999 Warriors) and Miranda Richardson. The BBC has commissioned three feature length segments to be directed by Stephen Poliakoff, also the writer. Once again, Ms. May finds herself in good company. |

In production, May 31, 2004: On a Clear Day
Ms. May is shooting again. Early reports state that she is co-starring with Peter Mullan again (they appeared together in Blinded earlier this year) and Brenda Blethyn. Costs are said to be £7 million. With that kind of financing, I'm predicting it will see international distribution. Good for us stateside. The story is about a father who swims the English Channel after he experiences the loss of one of his sons. Through the help of good friends and his family he manages to move on. Some fans might be happy to learn that this film is marketed as a comedy. I'm sure there are many out there looking forward to seeing Ms. May smile. We'll keep you posted as we receive information.

Other news: www.jodhimaydomain.us was launched in May, 2004 with high hopes of becoming a one-stop Jodhi May reference site. It's a tall order, but we thrive on its challenge. It comes just at the Jodhi_May yahoo group's one year anniversary. How quickly we grow! |
